Round One
- Participating teams must submit an outline of an innovative business idea that addresses existing market needs based on a product or a service that has the potential to create income or value, or explores new market niches.
- Business ideas that result in a reduction in environmental impacts will also be eligible to compete for the Eco-Business Innovation Award. The business idea can be an innovative product, a service or any process or management approach that brings about environmental benefits.
- Business ideas in Round One must be submitted online via this official website and the
online registration form provided on the site. - The idea should be limited to 1,000 words and written in English only.
- Deadline for submission of entries to Round One is 11 January 2010.
- Up to 20 teams will be short-listed for Round Two.
Round Two
- Short-listed teams will be invited to attend a Business Plan Writing Workshop on 29 January 2010.
- Teams will need to submit a full business plan elaborating their original business ideas.
- Business plans submitted must not exceed 10 pages (A4 size, standard font is Times New Roman size 12) excluding appendices (e.g. charts, tables, diagrams and spreadsheets) and written in English only.
- Deadline for submission is 3 March 2010 before 12 p.m.
- Finalist for Eco-Business Innovation Innovation Award will be selected at this stage.
- Up to 8 teams will be short-listed for Round Three.
Round Three
- Short-listed teams will be invited to meet a panel of judges on 2 April 2010.
- The top 3 teams will be invited to attend a presentation skills workshop on 9 April 2010.
Final
- Top 3 teams will be given 12 minutes each to make a formal presentation followed by a Q&A session in front of a panel of judges on 24 April 2010.
- The presentation will be in English only.
Final assessment for Eco-Business Innovation Award
- Teams qualifying for the Eco-Business Innovation Award will be invited to meet the judges for final assessment in 2 April 2010. During the final assessment, short-listed teams will present to the judging panel how their business plans can make a positive impact on the environment. The winner will be formally announced at the Brunei Grand Finals on 24 April 2010.

A value proposition is a statement depicting the gist and unique feature of the whole business idea. It could be one explaining how a product or service makes a difference to the current way of doing business or one describing the quantifiable benefits a product or service brings about.
