The HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2008-09

The HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards was launched in Brunei for the first time in 2008. The programme is designed to provide young people with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, enhance their business acumen and acquire a wide range of practical business knowledge and skills.

This business plan writing competition is open to tertiary level students in Brunei and will consist of a few rounds of judging supported by seminars and workshops. Participants will have the chance to learn how to write a business plan and sharpen their presentation skills.

Launched in Hong Kong in 2000, over 14,000 students took part in the competitions in different parts of Asia, reflecting the growing popularity of the programme among young students and the strong reputation the awards have established in the education sector.

The top three business proposals will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. The Gold Award winners will be flown to Hong Kong and have the chance to compete in the YEA Regional Finals in Hong Kong in June 2009. The team that wins the regional competition will go home with a HSBC business development fund of HK$100,000.
