The HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2009-10

The Hong Kong Final and the awards presentation ceremony will be held in April 2010. Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will be presented to the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up in the Hong Kong Final.

The winner of the Eco-Business Innovation Award will be announced on the same day. The Gold Award winning team will have the choice of a self-development fund or a two-month internship at HSBC which is intended to help prepare them for the business world.

The prizes are as follows (per team):

Gold Award

HK$40,000 self-development fund for the team or a two-month internship* at HSBC for each team member
An entrepreneurial tour to Malaysia**

Silver Award

HK$30,000 self-development fund for the team
An entrepreneurial tour to Malaysia**

Bronze Award

HK$20,000 self-development fund for the team
An entrepreneurial tour to Malaysia**

Eco-Business Innovation Award

HK$10,000 self-development fund for the team

An entrepreneurial tour to Malaysia**

* Winners are required to complete the internship before the end of September 2010.

** The prize of the visit to Malaysia is available to winners who have valid travel documents. The winners are responsible for their passports and visa application procedures and expenses. In the event that the winners(s) cannot participate in the tour; or the tour is delayed or cancelled due to any reason(s), the tour is non-transferable and cannot be converted or exchanged into cash.

For the regional competition, the Best of the Best, Diamond and Jade Awards will be presented to the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up respectively. Each of the winning team members will receive a trophy and the teams will each receive an HSBC self-development fund.

The value of the HSBC development funds is as follows (per team):

Other awards :

1. Certificate of Excellence
All teams in Round Three who are judged to have an excellent performance but do not qualify for the Hong Kong Final will be presented with a Certificate of Excellence and a cash prize of HK$3,000 (per team) in recognition of their achievement.

2. Certificate of Merit
All teams in Round Two who are judged to have a meritorious performance but do not qualify for Round Three will be presented with a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize of HK$1,500 (per team). The panel of judges will decide on the number of teams recognised with this certificate.

3. Certificate of Appreciation
All Round Two participants who have submitted a complete business plan but do not win any of the above awards will receive a Certificate of Appreciation as an acknowledgement of their effort and hard work.
